SURFACE PREPARATION

  • CLEAN FINISHED WHITE walls&ceilings in Maltese buildings do NOT need any preparations. SILK PLASTER will hide minor cracks and other  wall imperfections

  • Old, stained, dirty walls&ceilings need priming with WHITE water based paint. DO NOT use oil paint as the surface will be too slippery to apply SILK PLASTER

  • Gypsum boards MUST be primed TWICE (let first coat dry before applying the second one) with gypsum board primer.

MAKE SURE TO REMOVE ALL SCREWS, NAILS AND OTHER METAL PART FROM THE SURFACE BEFORE APPLYING SILK PLASTER!

HOW TO APPLY SILK PLASTER

STEP 1.

  • Pour room temperature water (20-25oC) into the plastic basin. Use the amount of water indicated on the package for each bag of SILK PLASTER liquid wallpaper

  • You can use your washing up basin as SILK PLASTER liquid wallpaper is a natural material which does not stain and is easily washed off.

STEP 2.

  • Shake the bag well, carefully cut off the cable tie (do NOT cut the bag as you can use it for the soaked material later)

  • Find the glitters (if available), put them into the water (optional) and stir well .

  • Empty the bag content into the water.

STRICTLY NO PARTIAL PRESOAKING OF THE BAG CONTENT ALLOWED!

STEP 3.

  • Mix it well by hands, straining through the fingers to avoid formation of glue clots. Put the mixture in a plastic bag and close up TIGHT.

  • Make sure the bag is not damaged!

  • Leave it for 12 hours.

STEP 4.

  • Taking small portions apply the presoaked material with the PLASTIC trowel evenly on the surface with 1-2 mm layer. Hold the trowel at an angle of 10-15 degrees. Do NOT apply excessive force!
